"No Meeting July": A Mid-Year Reset

Summer is a funny season for me. Life at home is anything but slow—with three boys in constant motion, Desiree’s dance schedule, and my ongoing involvement with youth basketball, the days are full. Yet, oddly enough, summer tends to be when things do slow down at Haas Financial Group.

After a busy first half of the year—full of reviews, planning conversations, and check-ins—we’ve noticed a natural lull. Clients travel. Questions pause. Plans shift to autopilot for a bit. And honestly, that’s okay. Everyone needs time to reset, us included.

So, we had an idea.

Each quarter, Tara, Adam, and I step back from our daily grind and hold a team retreat. We talk about what’s working, what’s not, and how we can make your experience better. At a recent session, we floated a concept that stuck: “No Meeting July.”

It’s exactly what it sounds like. With staggered vacations coming up, we wanted to give ourselves breathing room—not just to rest, but to refocus. Rather than pack our schedules with meetings, we’re using July to work on the business, not just in it.

That doesn’t mean we’re unavailable. Quite the opposite. If you need something—whether it’s a money movement request, account update, or just a conversation about something that’s on your mind—we’re still here. Always. We’re just not proactively scheduling meetings or taking on new client relationships until August rolls around.

In the meantime, you might notice some behind-the-scenes updates:

  • A refreshed website by summer’s end
  • The launch of Everplans, a new estate organization tool we’re excited to share
  • A job posting, as we prepare to welcome a new team member to the family

Truthfully, it’s not a hard stop. We already have six meetings on the calendar between now and August 1st. But we’re trying this “No Meeting July” idea out to give ourselves—and our clients—some intentional space.

Thanks, as always, for your continued trust. Here’s to a summer of rest, reflection, and a strong second half of the year.

— Ben
