Wrapping Up at Haas Financial Group
As my time at Haas Financial Group wraps up, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my experience here. To say I have learned a lot since I started in August would be significantly understating just how much value I have gained.
When I first applied to be an intern, I prepared for my interview the same way I always do – be educated on the company, have insightful questions, and be well versed on the state of the economy. Upon joining a zoom call with Ben and Adam, I was instantly taken back by the ease of conversation. Not only was I impressed with them as advisors and how they run their business, but just them as people. How much they care about their relationships with clients instantly told me these were people I would love to work for and learn from. I walked away from the conversation feeling confident that I put my best foot forward, knowing that some of my jokes even caused a few laughs 😊 It was not long before I got the call from Ben offering me the position and I could not have been more excited to get started.
The fall semester was a busy one – I was taking a full class load while being the captain of the Women’s Soccer Team. Ben, Adam and Tara were extremely understanding of my schedule and made balancing school, soccer and work that much easier. They endured my endless questions as I learned about their systems and how they do things – trying to provide value to them whenever I could. I must have done something right along the way because they invited me to stay through the spring semester, which I was extremely grateful for.
With the foundation laid, I truly feel my understanding and confidence in my work flourished in the spring. I was working more hours, speaking up in meetings and taking on more responsibility each week. There was not a day that went by that I did not feel I was learning something new. Ben and Adam pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to tackle new projects all while guiding and teaching me every step of the way. Their confidence in me allowed me to learn without fear of making mistakes. I am extremely grateful for their guidance and support during my time here!
Following my graduation in May, I will be headed closer to home and starting my professional career at Vanguard in their Financial Advisor Development Program! While I am sad my time working with Haas Financial Group is coming to an end, I feel very fortunate to have had this experience and be surrounded by people as great as Ben, Adam, and Tara!
